CHINESE IN THE COLONY 1894. NEW ZEALAND.

Return to an Order of the House of Representatives dated 18th July, 1894. Ordered, "That a return be laid before this House showing, according to provincial districts, the number of Chinese in the colony at the census of 1885 and 1891; the number who have left the colony from the census of 1885 to the 31st March, 1894 also the number who have returned to the colony, or died, or who have paid the tax under the Chinese Immigrants Act." —(Mr. G.
